Amber Folio Controls

Every keyboard improvement in the build, by where you are in Pool of Radiance. The game's own keys still work everywhere. The tag is the one enhancement you switch on; untagged rows are the game's own or always on.

Desktop: right-click for the seam panel, right-click again for the key card. Web: the seam list and the key card sit under the game.

One switch covers every row below that carries this tag: the arrows in lists, Enter, Esc and Left and Right at the bars, the main menu's cursor, the number row's heroes at the main menu, walking as a mode on the exploring bar, text entry that ignores the arrows, and the selection drawn as a yellow block.

Command bars the line along the bottom

LeftRightStep the highlight, like , and .. Everywhere except combat movement and aim, and Modify, where the arrows already do something. At the exploring bar they step it until you choose Move (see Exploring).modern-controls
EnterTake the highlighted command at nearly every bar: the exploring bars, camp and its Magic, Alter and Speed bars, shops, temples, combat's command, Done, Speed and aim bars, View, the portrait bar, the loot bars, a locked or stuck door's bar and the load slot bar. At the rest-time menu it follows the highlight too, which opens on Mins, not Rest. Commands other enhancements add, such as Fix and Notes, work too. Where the game gives Enter a meaning (lists, the party-order screen, combat move and the aim cursor, keep-or-sell, the icon editor) it keeps it, and the save slot bar and Modify ignore it.modern-controls
UpDown and keypad 82Previous or next hero wherever Home and End step it: camp, Magic, Alter, shops, temples, script prompts and the post-combat bars. Also at a door's bar, camp's Portraits and Monsters bar and the save slot bar, where the game throws Home and End away. On the party-order screen they move a picked-up hero. The keypad's 8 and 2 do the same with Num Lock on. At the exploring bar they select a hero until you choose Move, and walk after.modern-controls
capital letterTake that command (the game's own; lower case works).
the highlighted wordA yellow block, with its capital letter a white one. Only the word that holds the key is lit, so a bar whose keys are digits at the end of a word (the icon editor's) lights the word the key belongs to.modern-controls

the highlighted answerA yellow block, with its first letter a white one. A few questions the game draws inside out (the temple's pay prompt, the portrait bar) are drawn like the rest.modern-controls

Notes the journal's log and the pages of an entry

LeftRightStep the lit word of the screen's bar: Next, Prev, Exit. In the log the first press lights the bar.modern-controls
EnterTake the lit command. In the log, Enter opens the row under the cursor until Left or Right lights the bar; Up and Down give it back to the rows. With no entries in the log, Enter takes Exit.modern-controls

every selectionDrawn as a yellow block, the letters cut out of it, with a command's key letter a white block: a shape, so it reads whatever colours you see. A bar's lit word, a list's row, the party list's selected member, Modify's selected score, the main menu's cursor and the Notes list's. It is a look and takes no key.modern-controls

Combat, Modify and text entry keep the game's own keys.
